Whiskey Pie is a sometimes-band of veteran bluegrass musicians whose main goal is to have a mighty fine time. John Lowell is an award winning guitarist, singer, and songwriter, and together with Julie Elkins (banjo, vocals) and Dave Thompson (upright bass, vocals), the three were founding members of the highly acclaimed band, Kane’s River, which appeared at many of the top bluegrass festivals during the early 2000s. Tom Murphy (mandolin, vocals) is an accomplished mandolinist who has performed with countless top regional and national acts over the years.
