Shane de Leon started Miss Massive Snowflake in 2004, during the waning years of his time in legendary art-rock band, Rollerball. MMS began as a solo recording project incorporating family members on early eps and the debut album, Queen's Headache (2008). Jeanne Kennedy debuts on Songs About Music (2010), a wonderful collection of thoughtful and poetic excursions into de Leon's orchestral writing style and interest in social issues.
The band records and releases the album, Your Favorite Band during quarantine (2020). Their latest EP, Intrepid Feelings, continues the bands Covid-era internet and home studio collaborations. Instead of the whole band going into the studio to record preconceived songs, Andy Brown and Shane de Leon send tracks back and forth sculpting songs from layers of tracks. These songs are freer, and seem to float more than de Leon's usual songwriting style.
